Chosun University Hospital Selected as Operating Agency for 'Occupational Disease Safety Center' Project
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] Chosun University Hospital announced on the 19th that it has been selected as the preferred negotiation candidate for the '2022 Occupational Disease Safety Center Operation' project by the Ministry of Employment and Labor, and after negotiations, the final contract has been concluded.
The purpose of the project is to establish a system that quickly detects occupational diseases by identifying work-relatedness at each clinical treatment stage when patients with occupational diseases visit the hospital, preventing additional damage and performing follow-up measures such as cause investigations if necessary.
The Occupational Disease Safety Center at Chosun University Hospital will be exclusively operated by the Department of Occupational and Environmental Medicine, serving as an advisory body to enhance expertise in investigations and inquiries following the enforcement of the Serious Accidents Punishment Act, as well as early detection and prevention of occupational diseases.

Hospital Director Kim Kyung-jong said, "Being selected as the Occupational Disease Safety Center for the Gwangju, Jeolla, and Jeju regions carries a heavy responsibility," and added, "Chosun University Hospital Occupational Disease Safety Center will do its best to identify occupational diseases in cooperation with various hospitals in the jurisdiction to prevent industrial accidents and protect workers' health."
