West Korea Appoints Hong Seong-yong as New CEO
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-joo] West Pharmaceutical Services, a global company specializing in injectable drug manufacturing and drug delivery system development, announced on the 31st that it has appointed Hong Seong-yong as the new head of West Korea.
Newly appointed CEO Hong is a healthcare management expert with 28 years of experience at global life sciences companies such as Medidata, Cytiva, and GE Healthcare.
In his inaugural speech, CEO Hong said, “Korea's biopharmaceutical industry is rapidly growing, accounting for 5.8% of GDP manufacturing in 2020, up from 4.1% in 2016,” adding, “As the head of West Korea, I will create new growth cases together with domestic clients.”
Stuart Campbell, Vice President of West Pharmaceutical Services Asia Pacific, expressed expectations, saying, “The industry experience and expertise that CEO Hong possesses will enhance West’s customer value creation and promote West’s growth in Korea.”
