According to Gwangsan Police Station in Gwangju on the 30th, a police motorcycle and a passenger car collided while driving on a road in Sinchang-dong, Gwangsan-gu.
The motorcycle driver, a traffic police officer belonging to the Gwangju Metropolitan Police Agency, violated a traffic signal to pursue the motorcycle that broke traffic rules and entered an intersection, colliding with a passenger car making a left turn.
As a result of the accident, the police officer sustained serious injuries including a leg fracture and bruises and was transported to a nearby hospital.
It is known that the motorcycle driver did not hear the police officer's stop signal and continued driving.
