Samsung Electronics Decorates Bangkok with '200 Million Micro LEDs'
Installation of 'The Wall' at 'The Forestias' Promotion Center
A Massive Project Covering a Total Area of 140 Square Meters
[Asia Economy Reporter Jin-ho Kim] Samsung Electronics announced on the 29th that it has installed the micro LED "The Wall" at the promotional center of "The Forestias," a mega residential complex being developed by MQDC (Magnolia Quality Development Corporation Limited), Thailand's largest real estate developer.
Located in Bangkok, Thailand, The Forestias is a lifestyle smart city being developed by MQDC from 2017 to 2023. It is Thailand's largest real estate development project, featuring not only residential areas but also a 6-star hotel, cultural center, hospital, corporate facilities, and various neighborhood amenities.
The Wall installed at The Forestias promotional center supports ultra-high definition with a resolution of 12K horizontal by 8K vertical (46,080 × 4,320) and approximately 200 million pixels. It measures 38.7 meters wide and 3.6 meters high, covering an area of about 140 square meters.
Notably, it was installed as a 360-degree rectangular screen surrounding the entire promotional center on four sides. It attracted attention by applying a microprocessor capable of simultaneously processing the image quality of the giant screen and world-class module adjustment technology.
The Forestias promotional center opened on the 29th under the name "Secret Chamber" and will be used as a space to introduce the future smart city concept to customers not only from Thailand but also from Southeast Asia.
Keerin Chutumstid, CEO of MQDC, said, "Through Samsung Electronics' ultra-high-definition micro LED display The Wall, we expect that all customers visiting The Forestias will be able to experience a vivid future residential environment as if it were right in front of them."
