Democratic Party Completes 'Park Hong-geun Team' Appointments... "Frontline Deployment of First and Second-term Lawmakers"

[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Ju-yeon] The Democratic Party of Korea completed the appointment of the new floor leadership team under Park Hong-geun by appointing additional senior deputy floor leaders on the 28th.
On the day, floor spokespersons Oh Young-hwan and Lee Su-jin held a briefing at the National Assembly Communication Center and said, "Floor Leader Park emphasized making the Democratic Party a first party equipped with checks and balances, communication, and harmony," adding, "Since we will become the main opposition party starting in May, the deputy floor leaders were appointed based on their ability to check and communicate, as well as party unity, considering regional, generational, gender, and individual expertise."
The two appointed senior deputy floor leaders are second-term lawmakers Kim Jeong-ho (Gyeongnam Gimhae-eul, Industry, Trade, Energy, Small and Medium Venture Business Committee) and Shin Jeong-hoon (Jeonnam Naju-Hwasun, Industry Committee).
Following the appointment of lawmaker Go Min-jung as strategic deputy floor leader the previous day, the Democratic Party also appointed Agenda Deputy Floor Leader Kang Deuk-gu (Gyeonggi Anyang Manan), Legislative Deputy Floor Leader Kim Soo-heung (Jeonbuk Iksan), Political Affairs Deputy Floor Leader Min Hyung-bae (Gwangju Gwangsan-eul), Decentralization Deputy Floor Leader Park Young-soon (Daejeon Daedeok), Livelihood Deputy Floor Leaders Lee Dong-joo (Proportional Representation) and Yang Kyung-sook (Proportional Representation), Communication Deputy Floor Leaders Lee Jeong-moon (Chungnam Cheonan-byeong), Lee Jang-seop (Chungbuk Cheongju Seowon), Kang Min-jung (Proportional Representation), Planning Deputy Floor Leader Cheon Jun-ho (Seoul Gangbuk-gap), Legal Deputy Floor Leader Choi Ki-sang (Seoul Geumcheon), and Youth Deputy Floor Leader and Floor Leader Secretary-General Jeon Yong-gi (Proportional Representation).
Spokesperson Lee said, "Floor Leader Park has placed first- and second-term lawmakers at the forefront and, by appointing personnel from the Moon Jae-in administration, will continue the achievements and ongoing tasks of the Moon administration," adding, "At the same time, efforts will be accelerated for prosecution, media, and political reforms."

He also explained, "To closely examine livelihood issues, two deputy floor leaders were assigned to the livelihood sector, and to focus on party and national unity, three deputy floor leaders were assigned to the communication sector," adding, "In particular, since the youngest lawmaker in the party and a youth proportional representative, lawmaker Jeon, was appointed as Secretary-General, it reflects the will to relinquish vested interests and bring about change by injecting young innovation."
