Imsil Cheese Cluster Accelerates Activation of Cheese Industry
[Imsil=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Park Nosik] The Imsil N Cheese Cluster Corporation is accelerating efforts to revitalize the cheese industry.
On the 24th, the Imsil N Cheese Cluster Corporation announced that it held the first practical promotion committee meeting of 2022 at the Jijeonghwan Hall in Imsil Cheese Theme Park, attended by Chairman Shim Min and more than 30 representatives from local dairy processing companies.
The practical promotion committee was formed to ensure the smooth operation of the Imsil N Cheese Cluster project group, which leads the cheese industry in Imsil County, and is responsible for practical consultations to enhance cooperation among cluster project participants and improve the efficiency of individual project implementation.
At the meeting, they shared the achievements of last year's projects and exchanged opinions on detailed projects for this year.
Representatives from the Gwangju branch of the Korea Food Safety Management Certification Institute visited and conducted education on the Smart HACCP system for local dairy processing companies in Imsil County, making the meeting practically helpful to farmers.
The Imsil N Cheese Cluster Corporation was established in April 2013 and is the organization responsible for the ‘Imsil Cheese Food Cluster Development Project’ promoted by the special account for the eastern region of Jeonbuk Province. Last year, it achieved sales of 4.5 billion KRW through the distribution of dairy products such as cheese and yogurt produced by 14 dairy processing companies in the county.
To expand sales channels for dairy products produced by farmers, it operates six directly managed sales outlets including highway rest area stores and cheese cafes, playing a significant role as a specialized distribution organization for Imsil N Cheese.
This year, ahead of the opening of the suspension bridge in May, a new cheese cafe will be opened at Okjeongho, which is expected to attract many visitors, contributing greatly to increasing local farmers' income through the sale of dairy products and agricultural specialties.
Chairman Shim Min said, “The project group is carrying out various tasks to revitalize the Imsil cheese industry. In particular, the cheese cluster project group will play a leading role in the 3rd phase of the Eastern Region Food Cluster project, which will be carried out over five years with an investment of 17.2 billion KRW by 2025, to help the Imsil cheese industry take a step forward.”
