[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Kim] 11st announced on the 24th that it has appointed Ha Hyeong-il, SK Telecom CDO (Chief Development Officer), as its new CEO.
A business development (Corp. Dev.) and global business expert, Ha, who joined SK Telecom in 2018 based on the global investment network he built while working in global investment banks such as Macquarie Group, has been leading SK Telecom's New ICT business through active investment opportunity discovery.
He was responsible for major new businesses and external investments of SK Telecom, including the acquisition of ADT Caps (2018), the merger and acquisition of T-broad (2020), investment attraction from Uber and the establishment of a joint venture (JV) with T map Mobility (2021), and domestic and overseas investment attraction for One Store from Microsoft and DTCP (2021). Since 2020, he has served as a member of the 11st board of directors and led the launch of 11st's 'Amazon Global Store' last year.
With the appointment of the new CEO, an expert in new business strategy, 11st plans to discover new growth engines including partnerships with global operators, secure the best competitiveness in the rapidly changing market, increase corporate value, and successfully achieve the planned IPO next year.
Ha said, "The e-commerce market is an industry experiencing tremendous growth every year, and 11st has the fundamentals to be valued even higher in the future," adding, "Despite fierce competition, we will secure competitiveness that leads the market centered on the 'Amazon Global Store,' direct purchasing, and open market business to create a sustainably growing 11st."
To ensure solid growth in the e-commerce market, 11st has been making strategic investments for future growth since the second half of last year. 11st introduced new businesses such as ▲launching the Amazon Global Store ▲introducing AWS solutions to its own live broadcasting platform (LIVE11) ▲expanding the Shocking Delivery (next-day arrival for orders placed before midnight) business ▲leading social shopping with video reviews and content.

Ha will officially take office as CEO after the 11st extraordinary general meeting of shareholders and board of directors. 11st appointed Ahn Jeong-eun, head of the 11st portal planning group, as Chief Operating Officer, Park Hyun-su, head of the 11st Corporate Center, as head of sales, and Kim Tae-wan, SK Telecom's head of growth business, as Chief Strategy Officer, respectively, to drive the company's new growth.
