Hampyeong-gun Accelerates 'Village Making Project' to Enhance Competitiveness in Rural Areas
3 Villages Including Nasan Wongusan, Haebo Gugye, and Daedong Oedeok
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Hampyeong-gun, Jeollanam-do is accelerating the promotion of the 'Rural Village Making' project to secure competitiveness in rural areas.
According to the county on the 23rd, this 'Village Making Project' is a project aimed at revitalizing the community and attracting population by improving the living environment and landscape of rural villages.
In particular, it focuses on ▲expanding basic living infrastructure (such as renovating old village halls) ▲landscape improvement (repairing and maintaining fences, maintaining village roads) ▲strengthening residents' capabilities (resident education and advanced site visits).
The county has been promoting the village making project together with village residents since 2018, and so far, 11 villages including Nasan Yongsu Village and Eomda Yeonghwajeong have completed the project.
This year, a total budget of 1.5 billion KRW (500 million KRW per village) will be invested in three villages: Nasan Wongusan, Haebo Gugye, and Daedong Oedeok, to promote village environment maintenance and landscape improvement projects reflecting the characteristics of each village.

A county official said, “We will actively reflect residents' opinions and proceed with the project without any setbacks,” adding, “We will do our best to breathe new life into the underdeveloped rural fishing villages.”
