[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Geochang-gun, Gyeongnam Province, has decided to promote various educational projects to attract adolescent population and create a city where young people gather.
To realize a future premium education city, a master plan will be established simultaneously with the launch of the Geochang-gun Integrated Education Promotion Team. Starting with the proclamation of a future city linked with local educational institutions, plans will be made to discover educational support projects.
To nurture talent in the elevator industry, active efforts are underway to convert the Elevator High School into a Meister High School.
They are seeking ways to increase the enrollment quota of Korea Elevator University and provide full tuition support for students of Gyeongnam Provincial Geochang College, extending tuition support to students entering the Elevator University as well.
The goal is to raise the current scholarship fund of approximately 10 billion KRW to over 20 billion KRW. Methods are also being explored to promote this through hometown love donations and other laws, encouraging cooperation between alumni and residents.
To help infants and elementary students naturally become familiar with education, the Hanmaeum Library, whose functions will be relocated due to the construction of a future-type education center, will be transformed into a children's specialized library. Efforts are also being made to attract a national science museum.

The county plans to develop into a theater mecca by establishing a theater department at local universities, founding a county-run theater troupe, and building a theater arts complex, aiming to become the best theater city nationwide. The goal is to make the Geochang International Theater Festival a world-class event.
