The 4th National SW Meister High School 'Busan Software Meister High School' Opening Ceremony on the 15th
Last March, Freshman Admission Competition Rate 2.3 to 1
Opening Ceremony Held to Coincide with Completion of Dormitory and Practice Rooms
[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] The 'Busan Software Meister High School,' the fourth Meister high school specializing in software nationwide, will hold an opening ceremony on the 15th, coinciding with the completion of its dormitory and practice rooms.
Busan Software Meister High School is the fourth software-focused Meister high school to open nationwide, following those in Daejeon, Daegu, and Gwangju. The former Busan Industrial Science High School, a vocational high school, was reorganized into a Meister high school and began recruiting new students as Busan Software Meister High School in March 2021, recording a competition rate of 2.3 to 1 at that time.
Meister high school students select their major department in their second year to receive intensive specialized education, with entrance fees and tuition waived. All students are provided with dormitory accommodations and receive personal laptops for practice. The curriculum is designed with special lectures for exploring careers in software and field-oriented education utilizing industry-academic adjunct instructors.
The Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Science and ICT support software Meister high schools by operating timely software education programs based on industry demand and linking students to employment at excellent companies to foster customized talent early in the software industry.
The Ministry of Education supports the establishment of school infrastructure such as dormitory construction, facility expansion, and student support at Busan Software Meister High School, while the Ministry of Science and ICT is responsible for developing and operating software curricula, building practice infrastructure, and promoting industry-academic cooperation projects.
Through systematic industry-academic cooperation systems, including signing business agreements with software companies and institutions such as Woowa Brothers and Wisnut, the school supports field-centered education and employment.
The newly expanded Software Research Center has been created as an open space where important collaboration and exchange in the software field can be practiced, including major club activity rooms and a community hall for communication.
