The American Chamber of Commerce in Korea Issues Congratulatory Statement to President-Elect Yoon Suk-yeol of the 20th Republic of Korea
[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] The American Chamber of Commerce in Korea (AmCham) congratulated Yoon Suk-yeol, the president-elect of the 20th Republic of Korea, on the 10th and stated that it will build an even closer cooperative relationship with the next administration.
James Kim, chairman of AmCham, said in a statement, "We celebrate together with the people of the Republic of Korea on the successful completion of the 20th presidential election," and added, "We are very grateful for the meaningful dialogue held last December between President-elect Yoon, who was then a candidate, and AmCham member companies during a special meeting." He continued, "I am confident that President-elect Yoon clearly recognizes the value of the Korea-US alliance," and emphasized, "We will work closely with the next administration to further strengthen the economic and trade partnership between the two countries."

Chairman Kim said, "Although Korea and the US face several major challenges, I am confident that tremendous progress can be made in strategic industries such as bio, semiconductors, and digital technology over the next five years," and added, "As this year marks the 10th anniversary of the Korea-US Free Trade Agreement (FTA), AmCham will continue to play a key role as a bridge connecting the governments and businesspeople of both countries."
