[Asia Economy Reporter Koo Chae-eun] Song Young-gil, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, said on the 9th, the presidential election voting day, "Some people tried to stop me from going back to the streets without proper treatment, while others encouraged me," adding, "I am not asking for pity. I want to express how desperate I am."
Song, who was attacked during an election campaign on the 7th, said at a press conference held at the Yeouido party headquarters that morning, "Even if someone is a little lacking or not perfect, please carefully consider who can best handle the current challenges and who is the better worker, and be sure to vote."
He said, "'Just one person like me' or 'Isn't it all the same?' If you think like that, someone you don't want could become the highest government official."
