Cumulative Confirmed Cases Surpass 5 Million

The Central Disease Control Headquarters announced that as of midnight on the 9th, the number of new confirmed cases increased by 342,446 compared to the previous day, bringing the total cumulative confirmed cases to 5,212,118. This is an increase of 139,725 cases compared to the previous day (202,721 cases).
The number of critically ill patients currently hospitalized increased by 80 from the previous day (1,007) to 1,087. The age distribution of critically ill patients is as follows: under 10 years old, 6; teens, 3; 20s, 16; 30s, 24; 40s, 28; 50s, 85; 60s, 237; 70s, 308; and 80 years and older, 380.
As the number of critically ill patients rises, hospital bed occupancy rates are also increasing. The occupancy rates are 59.1% for critical care beds, 63.8% for semi-critical care beds, and 46.1% for moderate care beds. The operation rate of residential treatment centers is 24.5%.
The number of deaths also increased by 19 from the previous day, totaling 158, bringing the cumulative death toll to 9,440. The cumulative fatality rate stands at 0.18%. Among the new deaths, the age distribution is as follows: teens, 1; 30s, 1; 50s, 12; 60s, 22; 70s, 28; and 80 years and older, 94, with 57 of them being unvaccinated.

The number of patients under home treatment is 1,218,536, of which 185,104 are in the intensive management group.
