Government Provides Humanitarian Aid Worth 10 Million USD to Ukraine
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo In-ho] The government announced on the 8th that it will provide emergency medical supplies such as protective suits and blankets to Ukraine, which has been invaded by Russia.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs plans to deliver 40 tons of emergency medical supplies to Ukraine in four shipments within this week, including protective suits, medical gloves, medical masks, first aid kits, blankets, portable oxygen generators, and ventilators for critically ill patients.
This is part of a humanitarian aid package worth 10 million USD to Ukraine.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs explained that it is currently discussing the details of the humanitarian aid through the Embassy of Ukraine in Korea and selected relief items reflecting Ukraine's requests.
Previously, the Ukrainian government reportedly formally requested military supplies, including lethal weapons, from the Korean government through diplomatic channels.
The requested items are known to include rifles, anti-tank missiles, satellite intelligence, helmets, bulletproof vests, and combat rations.
