[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Jucheol In] In Gyeongnam, the number of confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) has remained in the ten-thousands for five consecutive days.
According to Gyeongsangnam-do on the 6th, as of midnight, the number of new COVID-19 confirmed cases was 14,425, bringing the cumulative total to 219,358. Except for 8 cases from overseas arrivals, all are local infections.
By region, Changwon reported 4,740 cases, Gimhae 2,823, Yangsan 1,961, Jinju 1,455, Geoje 943, Tongyeong 590, Sacheon 323, Miryang 298, Geochang 278, Haman 195, Changnyeong 169, Hapcheon 136, Goseong 117, Sancheong 98, Hadong 90, Hamyang 82, Namhae 76, and Uiryeong 51.
There were also 8 deaths: 3 in Changwon, 3 in Gimhae, and 1 in Jinju.
Accordingly, the cumulative confirmed cases in the province stand at 219,358 (790 hospitalized, 87,258 under home treatment, 131,127 discharged, and 183 deceased).
