Government Launches 'Industrial DX Promotion Team'... "Overseeing Digital Transformation Policy"
[Asia Economy Sejong=Reporter Lee Junhyung] The government has established a dedicated organization to support the 'Industrial Digital Transformation Promotion Act' set to be implemented in July this year.
The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy announced on the 6th that it will launch the dedicated organization 'Industrial Digital Transformation Promotion Team' to systematically promote policies for digital transformation (DX) in the industrial sector. This move follows the passage of the Industrial Digital Transformation Promotion Act by the National Assembly in December last year, with enforcement scheduled for July 5 this year.
The Ministry plans to appoint Noh Geon-gi, Director-General-level Industrial Technology Convergence Policy Officer, as the head of the Promotion Team. The team will be composed of personnel responsible for digital transformation from the Ministry and related organizations. The Promotion Team will oversee digital transformation policies in the industrial sector, establish national strategies, and systematically support collaborative activities among companies.
Specifically, the Promotion Team will conduct a survey on the status of industrial digital transformation and establish a comprehensive plan. It will form a public-private joint 'Industrial Digital Transformation Committee' to discuss concrete measures. Additionally, it will designate Industrial Digital Transformation Collaboration Support Centers nationwide. Through these centers, the team plans to discover leading projects and nurture digital technology supply companies into specialized industrial digital transformation firms.
It will also establish guidelines for industrial data contracts. By standardizing industrial data, managing quality, and building and operating industrial data platforms, it will promote collaboration among companies.
