“Use the Waters off Gijang” … Busan Gijang-gun Promotes Support for the 18th Busan International Dance Festival
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Busan's Gijang-gun is expected to provide its coastal waters and village parks for the Busan International Dance Festival this summer.
Gijang-gun is known to be actively considering the proposal from the Busan International Dance Festival Organizing Committee to allow residents to enjoy arts and culture more and to help citizens recharge with vitality during the difficult times caused by COVID-19.
Earlier, the Busan Dance Festival Organizing Committee requested Gijang-gun's support for hosting the "18th Busan International Dance Festival."
The committee hoped to hold the event in the Gijang area for two days, from June 4 to 5, during the entire four-day festival period from June 2 to 5, under the theme "Visiting International Dance."
The plan includes setting up stages at three locations: Saemaeul Park in Gijang-eup, Ilgwang Beach, and Junggwan-eup Central Park. Nine teams of domestic and international dance artists and groups will be invited to perform.

The "Busan International Dance Festival" began in 2005 as the Busan International Beach Dance Festival and is held annually during the first week of June. Dance artists and groups from home and abroad visit Busan to showcase their performances.
