Lee: "Give Us a Chance to Build a Growth Nation"
Relentless Campaigning Across Gangwon-Gyeonggi-Seoul
Key Battleground: Solidifying Metropolitan Voter Support
President Emphasizes Overcoming Economic Crisis
Unification Candidate Kim Dong-yeon Provides Support Today
[Asia Economy Reporter Koo Chae-eun] Lee Jae-myung, the presidential candidate of the Democratic Party of Korea, is embarking on a rigorous schedule traveling between Gangwon Province, the Gyeonggi area, and Seoul with only five days left until the presidential election. The day before, seemingly mindful of the opposition candidates' unification, Lee emphasized, "I will become an economic president who overcomes crises." His strategy is to visit Gangwon, including Chuncheon, where campaigning has been insufficient, and then solidify voter support in the metropolitan area, considered the biggest battleground of this election.

He particularly stressed, "For political change and world change on the upcoming March 9th, for a more evolved and competent government, for a hopeful growth nation and a fair society, please give me, Lee Jae-myung, a chance." This was a reiteration of his emphasis on the 'economic president' persona in response to the opposition's 'regime change' narrative.
Regarding his visit to the early voting site around City Hall that day, Lee said, "I thought of the countless citizens who held candles and gathered in Gwanghwamun and in front of City Hall," conveying the significance. This area is actually where the largest number of office workers gather in Seoul, reflecting the intention to encourage early voting among the 2030 generation. A Democratic Party campaign official explained, "Sogong-dong is where Lee worked part-time at lawyer Cho Young-rae's office during his judicial training, and by conducting early voting here, we aim to deliver a message about Lee's political beginnings."
In the afternoon, Lee plans to move to Gangwon, holding on-site campaigns in front of Kkotmoe Park in Hongcheon County and at Brown 5th Street in Chuncheon. He will then move to the metropolitan area. He intends to campaign on-site in Namyangju, Gyeonggi Province (Pyeongnae-Hopyeong Station Plaza), his political hometown, followed by stops at the rear gate of Children's Grand Park in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, and the entrance of Gangdong Art Center in Gangdong-gu to target metropolitan voters. Another campaign official stated, "He will emphasize messages such as a unifying president, political change, and real estate problem solver."
