Now in its 12th year, the ‘Happiness Plus Social Contribution Campaign’ is co-hosted by the Korea Journalists Association and the Korea Employers Federation. It is a social contribution event that rewards outstanding companies that exemplarily practice social responsibility such as Creating Shared Value (CSV), environmental preservation, and mutual growth.
Hanjin was recognized for its contributions to solving social issues through various social contribution activities that leverage the characteristics of delivery and logistics, including the National Police Agency’s long-term missing children search ‘Hope Tape’ campaign, efforts to improve the working conditions of delivery workers, and support activities for marginalized groups.
Under the leadership of Vice President Cho Hyun-min, Head of Future Growth Strategy and Marketing, Hanjin has continuously strengthened its Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) management through various social contribution and CSV activities integrated with its logistics business, achieving an upgraded A grade in last year’s ESG evaluation of listed companies, two levels higher than the previous year.
The representative social contribution activity recognized through this award is the ‘Hope Tape’ campaign. Since 2020, Hope Tape containing information about long-term missing children has been attached to delivery boxes, allowing consumers using delivery services to take an interest in and participate in the issue of long-term missing children. Approximately one million delivery boxes had Hope Tape attached by last year. The campaign continues to be actively promoted to client companies, contributing to the resolution and prevention of child disappearances.
In addition, efforts to improve the safety and working conditions of delivery workers are ongoing. To prevent overwork and proactively manage the health of delivery workers, a healthcare solution service using wearable devices has been established. A delivery ‘electric cart’ was developed to help delivery workers transport goods more comfortably. Furthermore, nationwide terminal business trip health checkups are supported for about 10,000 delivery workers, trunk line drivers, and branch managers, and investments continue for the introduction of wheel sorters at sub-terminals.
