[Asia Economy Sejong=Reporter Kim Hyewon] Prime Minister Kim Boo-kyum tested positive for COVID-19 on the 3rd.
According to the Prime Minister's Secretariat on the day, Prime Minister Kim received a positive result from a PCR test in the morning and will stay at the Prime Minister's official residence for seven days until the 9th to undergo home treatment.
The Secretariat stated that guidance and measures for related contacts have been completed, and all have already tested negative through rapid antigen tests. It was reported that there was no face-to-face contact with President Moon Jae-in.
During the home treatment period, Prime Minister Kim plans to manage various reports and current affairs through online and video conferencing. Any schedules requiring unavoidable face-to-face contact, such as site visits and meetings, will be postponed for the time being.
The Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasure Headquarters meeting for COVID-19 will be conducted mainly by the first deputy (Minister of Health and Welfare) and the second deputy (Minister of the Interior and Safety), and if necessary, Prime Minister Kim will manage work in real time via phone and video conferencing.
