Imsil-gun 추진 of 'Seongsusan Tourism Development Water and Sewage Expansion Project'
[Imsil=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Park Nosik] Imsil-gun, Jeonbuk, is actively advancing the Seongsusan tourism development project, which preserves the historical value of the founding legends of the Goryeo and Joseon dynasties, and is now set to fully promote the water supply and sewage expansion project.
On the 28th, the county announced that, in line with the smooth progress of the Seongsusan tourism development project, it is investing an additional 4 billion KRW of county funds to promote the ‘Seongsusan Tourism Development Water Supply and Sewage Expansion Project’ to ensure the normal operation of facilities and provide convenience to visitors.
The project aims to build a sustainable, eco-friendly tourism infrastructure by preserving the water quality of public water areas in the ecologically rich Seongsusan region, restoring the water cycle, and supplying stable domestic water.
A total of 4 billion KRW will be invested in this project, which is currently underway following local surveys and detailed design.
The total scope of the project includes the construction of 3.5 km of sewage pipelines and 5.3 km of water supply pipelines, including one new sewage treatment facility and one water supply reservoir.
Through this project, water supply and public sewage facilities will be provided not only to visitors of the Seongsusan tourist site but also to 45 households residing in Seongsu-ri, Seongsu-myeon, a nearby village.
To expand the water supply and sewage system, the county allocated a budget of 1 billion KRW last year and began the project in December.
This year, 1.5 billion KRW was allocated in the main budget, and an additional 1.5 billion KRW was set aside in the supplementary budget, with plans to complete the project within this year.
The Seongsusan development project is steadily progressing with the goal of reopening the natural recreation forest and opening various experiential facilities next year.
Last year, the Seongsusan National Leisure Camping Site (2.2 billion KRW), which includes six caravan sites and 14 auto camping sites for family camping, was completed.
Additionally, through the Seongsusan King’s Forest Ecotourism Development Project (7.2 billion KRW), a total of 22.3 km of trails around Seongsusan were maintained.
The visitor center under construction at the entrance of Seongsusan has completed exterior work and is currently undergoing interior work, expected to be fully completed this year.
▲ Taejo Hope Forest Development Project (8.35 billion KRW) ▲ Seongsusan Forest Leisure Sports Facility Development (6 billion KRW) ▲ Seongsusan Natural Recreation Forest Supplement (5 billion KRW) are actively progressing, including the construction of parking lots, rest facilities, and forest playgrounds at the entrance of Seongsusan.
The county plans to complete the overall project within this year, providing tourists with enjoyable and scenic experiences combined with forest healing through eco-friendly forest adventure facilities.
A county official stated, “We will prioritize the convenience of visitors to Seongsusan Natural Recreation Forest and strive to make Seongsusan a representative tourist destination that benefits the local economy by attracting many tourists. To this end, we will do our best to prevent water pollution in the Seongsusan area and expand convenience facilities as expected by the residents.”
