Government Awards Commendation to Contributors for Promoting the Munhwa Nuri Card Program
42 Local Government Officials and Regional Cultural Foundation Staff Members
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Arts Council Korea will hold the 'Integrated Cultural Voucher (Munhwa Nuri Card) Project Promotion Merit Award Ceremony' at 1 p.m. on the 23rd at the Artist's House in Jongno-gu, Seoul. This event is to commend the efforts of local government officials and regional cultural foundation staff who contributed to expanding cultural enjoyment for low-income groups last year. Deputy Minister Kim Hyun-hwan of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will award commendations from the Minister of Culture to forty-two individuals. Among them are An So-ra, a manager from Gyeongju City, Gyeongbuk, who encouraged the issuance of cards to unused Munhwa Nuri Card holders and promoted usage support services for the elderly; Kim Seong-eun, a senior staff member of the Seoul Foundation for Arts and Culture; and Choi Seon-hwi, a manager from Muju County, Jeonbuk.

The Munhwa Nuri Card, which has been provided on a first-come, first-served basis to basic livelihood security recipients and some lower-income groups, will be supported for all 2.63 million basic livelihood security recipients and lower-income groups starting this year. Deputy Minister Kim stated, "We are confident that we will provide opportunities for recovery and healing through culture to those facing difficulties due to COVID-19."
