[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Gyumin] In a residential area in Eunpyeong-gu, Seoul, election posters of Lee Jae-myung, the presidential candidate of the Democratic Party of Korea, were damaged, prompting the police to launch an investigation.
The Western Seoul Police Station announced on the 21st that at around 5 p.m. on the 20th, they received a report that Lee's posters were torn in a residential area near an apartment complex in Eungam-dong and dispatched officers to the scene.
The face of candidate Lee on the poster was torn around the nose and mouth by a sharp object.
A police official said, "We are currently searching for the culprit who damaged the posters based on the closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage at the scene."
