[Olympics] Men's Four-Man Bobsleigh Moves Away from Medal Contention
Team Won Yoonjong 18th Place, Team Seok Youngjin 26th Place
The South Korean bobsleigh team fell out of medal contention in the men's four-man event at the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics. On the 19th, Won Yoon-jong (Gangwon Province Office), Kim Jin-su, Kim Dong-hyun (both Gangwon Province Office), and Jung Hyun-woo (Korea National Sport University) ranked 18th with a combined time of 1 minute 59.05 seconds after the first and second runs at the National Sliding Center in Yanqing, Beijing, China. Seok Young-jin (Gangwon Province Office), Kim Hyung-geun (Gangwon BS Gyeonggi Federation), Kim Tae-yang, and Shin Ye-chan (both Korea National Sport University) recorded a time of 2 minutes 0.05 seconds, placing 26th. As a result, the South Korean bobsleigh and skeleton team is increasingly likely to finish this competition without any medals. The team had previously leveraged the home track advantage at the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics, where Yoon Sung-bin (Gangwon Province Office) won the gold medal in men's skeleton, and the four-man team (Won Yoon-jong, Jeon Jeong-rin, Seo Young-woo, Kim Dong-hyun) took silver.
