Songpa-gu Recruiting Applicants for 'New Security Guard Training'
In-person Applications at 'Songpa Iljari Center' for Middle-Aged and Older Job Seekers Until March 4
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Songpa-gu (Mayor Park Seong-su) is recruiting applicants for the first session of the 2022 ‘New Security Guard Training’ and provides one-stop support for tuition fees and employment connections.
Mayor Park Seong-su explained the background of the initiative, saying, “Through support for training security guards, where there is high demand for both job seekers and employers, we hope that middle-aged and older adults can plan a second career and establish a more stable economic foundation.”
As part of a customized job support project for residents, the district has been operating the new security guard training course since 2019. Up to last year, a total of 214 graduates have completed the course, with 110 employed in related workplaces.
The total number of trainees for 2022 is 70, recruited in three sessions. For the upcoming recruitment, ▲the first session has a quota of 30 people, with applications accepted from February 14 to March 4. ▲The second session plans to recruit 20 trainees from April 11 to 22. ▲The third session will recruit 20 trainees from August 25 to September 7.
Applicants must be unemployed middle-aged or older residents of Songpa-gu as of the application date. Those currently receiving unemployment benefits (except those whose benefits end before the training start date), or those judged unable to work due to chronic illness or poor health, are not eligible to apply.
Required documents include ▲application form ▲personal information consent form ▲one copy of resident registration. Applicants can find and fill out the designated forms by searching ‘general security guard’ on the Songpa-gu Office website. Completed documents must be submitted in person at the Songpa Employment Center (326 Olympic-ro, Songpa-gu, Seoul).
Applicants will be selected based on criteria such as employment intention, duration of job search in security positions, and financial status. Results will be individually notified on March 21.
Selected trainees will receive training from March 23 to 25 covering the Security Services Act, escort security practices, and accident prevention measures. Certificates of completion will be issued, and employment connections in the security industry will be supported through the Songpa Employment Center.
