[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heeyoon] A MyData Forum, which researches theories, security measures, and regulatory innovations related to MyData spreading across all industries, is launching.
The MyData Forum (Chairman Lee Seongyeop) announced on the 18th that it will hold its inaugural general meeting on the 22nd and begin full-scale activities. The inaugural general meeting will be held at 12 PM on the 22nd at the Press Center in Jung-gu, Seoul.
The MyData Forum is an organization established to discuss and derive improvements on theories and practical matters related to MyData, which is expanding not only in finance but also in healthcare, public projects, and other fields.
The forum includes industry participants such as Shinhan, KB, Naver Financial, Kakao Pay, BankSalad, Kakao Healthcare CIC, and Asan Medical Center; legal firms including Kim & Chang, Bae, Kim & Lee LLC, and Lee & Ko; and academia including the Korea Legislation Research Institute, Seoul National University, and Korea University.

Lee Seongyeop, Chairman of the MyData Forum and professor at Korea University, stated, "For MyData to realize its true value, an environment must be created where scattered information beyond finance can be gathered." He added, "In addition to the government's 'Comprehensive Policy for MyData Development' and 'MyData Data Standardization Plan,' we will take the lead in addressing pressing tasks such as revising the Personal Information Protection Act for information transfer and introducing standardization for cross-sector data movement."
