Im Taek, Mayor of Gwangju Dong-gu, Successfully Concludes Book Publication Ceremony
Im Taek, Mayor of Dong-gu, Gwangju, held a publication celebration for 'A Special Travel Guide by a Sitting Mayor - The Gwangju I Loved, Original Downtown Dong-gu Edition' on the 12th and is taking a commemorative photo.

This book launch event was conducted in the form of an exhibition where visitors could enjoy photos, writings, and videos of about 30 tourist attractions in Dong-gu. The contents of the book published by the mayor were displayed and presented in a three-dimensional exhibition format for video viewing.
The event was attended by numerous political figures including Lee Yong-seop, Mayor of Gwangju; Kang Ki-jung, former Senior Secretary for Political Affairs at the Blue House; Song Gap-seok, Chairman of the Gwangju Democratic Party; National Assembly members Lee Byung-hoon, Yoon Young-duk, Jo Oh-seop, Min Hyung-bae; Moon In, Mayor of Buk-gu; Seo Dae-seok, Mayor of Seo-gu; and Kim Sam-ho, Mayor of Gwangsan-gu, who all congratulated the book launch.
Additionally, congratulatory videos and messages were sent by about 30 people including Lee Jae-myung, Democratic Party presidential candidate; former Prime Ministers Lee Hae-chan, Lee Nak-yeon, and Chung Sye-kyun; Kim Young-bae, Supreme Council Member of the Democratic Party; National Assembly member Kim Doo-kwan; Yeom Tae-young, Chairman of the Good Local Government Association; and Jang Hwi-guk, Superintendent of Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education.
Im Taek, Mayor of Dong-gu, authored "The Gwangju I Love, Old Downtown Dong-gu Edition," which introduces attractive tourist spots in Old Downtown Dong-gu such as the National Asia Culture Center, Jeonil Building 245, museums, art galleries, bookstores, traditional markets, printing complexes, humanities academies, and Chungjang 22. The book encourages visitors to come to Dong-gu, Gwangju when they feel the need for travel in their lives.

Mayor Im Taek stated, "To create a city people want to visit and stay in, we aim to elevate Dong-gu as a representative hub city for tourism in Gwangju," adding, "We will splendidly revive Old Downtown Dong-gu so that more people can enjoy its attractive tourism resources and historical cultural assets."
