"If Confirmed Positive, Do This"... Health Authorities Distribute Guidelines for COVID-19 Patients and Cohabitants
Included as a URL in PCR Positive Notification Text
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Young-won] As the management system for confirmed cases responding to Omicron has changed, the Central Disease Control Headquarters distributed a guideline for COVID-19 confirmed cases and their cohabitants on the 10th.
According to the Central Disease Control Headquarters, this guideline is also included in the form of a URL in the positive notification text message received by confirmed cases after undergoing a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test.
The guideline contains rules, precautions, and essential information that confirmed cases and their cohabitants must follow during home quarantine. The management method for confirmed cases is divided into a focused management group, including those aged 60 or older and those in their 50s with underlying conditions, and a general management group.
Common information includes quarantine period, method, going out, and quarantine release details. The focused management group is provided with two health monitoring sessions, treatment, and emergency response methods. Separately, the general management group, which is not monitored by authorities, is provided with non-face-to-face consultation and treatment methods. Cohabitants of confirmed cases receive health management guidelines and methods to prevent transmission within the family. From the 9th, cohabitants of confirmed cases who have completed vaccination are exempt from self-quarantine and only need to undergo passive monitoring for seven days.
