According to the Office for Government Policy Coordination on the 9th, the government and Kakao held a meeting at Kakao's Pangyo office in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, in the morning and signed a partnership for the 'Youth Hope ON Project' with these details. Kakao will invest 500 billion KRW over the next five years to create new jobs.
The 'Kakao Community,' including Kakao's first-tier affiliates, will directly hire an average of 2,000 people annually over the next five years. The 'Artificial Intelligence (AI) Campus,' currently being established for employee training purposes, will be opened to the general youth, nurturing a total of 6,000 digital young talents over three years starting in 2024. Additionally, Kakao will invest 300 billion KRW over the next five years to support the founding of '100 startups.'
Attending the meeting were Prime Minister Kim, Koo Yoon-chul, head of the Office for Government Policy Coordination, Park Hwa-jin, Vice Minister of Employment and Labor, and Kakao executives including Chairman Kim, Vice Chairmen Kim Seong-su and Hong Eun-taek, and CEO-designate Namgoong Hoon.
Prime Minister Kim said, "With Kakao's participation in Youth Hope ON, we expect the creation of more than 20,000 good jobs and talent development in the digital industry sector alone, as well as the emergence of a 'second and third Kakao.'" He added, "We expect Kakao to set an example of win-win management among platform companies going forward."
