Emart Sells Korean Air and Playmobil Figures... "Targeting Kidult Market"
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] Emart announced on the 9th that it will sell three types of figures of flight attendants, pilots, and maintenance workers created in collaboration with Korean Air and Playmobil.
These products are characterized by being modeled exactly after the actual appearances of Korean Air's flight attendants, pilots, and maintenance workers. Not only the uniforms and accessories of Korean Air employees but also various equipment used by the staff, such as in-flight carts, radios, and maintenance tools, are made to closely resemble the real items, which is expected to gain popularity among the kidult community.
Playmobil is well-known for releasing many figures that are detailed and highly authentic, making their products popular not only among children but also among kidults. In fact, Playmobil products at Emart saw sales increase 5.7 times compared to the previous year last year, and sales surged 38 times in December, the Christmas season.
