The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and Korea Railroad Corporation announced on the 8th that they will promote this "Railway-Public Transportation Information Linkage Service" project in cooperation with local governments to improve convenience for railway users.
This service allows users to check transfer information such as bus routes centered around railway stations, boarding locations, and real-time positions to their destination within the railway reservation app (KORAIL Talk) without using separate apps or portal sites. The plan is to enhance KORAIL Talk so that users can view integrated public transportation information to reach their final destination as well as train-related information at a glance.
Additionally, the Ministry and Korea Railroad Corporation plan to build an integrated information platform based on railways (RaaS). They intend to sequentially proceed not only with the first phase of integrated transportation information services centered on railways but also the second phase linking tourism information such as tourist attractions and local events, and the third phase linking economic information to promote regional economic revitalization.
In particular, the tourism and economic information linkage will be developed as a collaborative model with local governments to provide information tailored to users' needs by considering the characteristics of each region, rather than uniform information.
