"Less Than 10,000 Won but Includes Cheese Balls"... CU Launches Giant Chicken Box
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] CU announced on the 8th that it will launch the ‘Giant Chicken Box,’ which allows customers to enjoy both boneless chicken and cheese balls, on the 9th.
The chicken is made from the softest and chewiest chicken thigh meat, fried fresh in oil immediately after ordering. With a weight of 550g, it is enough for two adults to share. The set also includes cheese balls made with 100% natural mozzarella cheese.
The price of this product is 9,900 won, which is one of the lowest in the industry when considering the price relative to the total weight. It is not only reasonably priced compared to chicken specialty stores but also about 13% cheaper than purchasing each item separately at CU. Customers can conveniently order and have it delivered through delivery platforms such as Yogiyo, KakaoTalk Order, and Naver Order, as well as purchasing in-store.
According to CU, sales of fried chicken grew by 31.1% last year compared to the previous year. In particular, sales increased by 46.7% in locations densely populated with single-person households such as one-room apartments and officetels, and grew by 40.3% in family housing areas.
