On the 7th, Gijang-gun, Busan, opened a large swing measuring 6 meters in height and 4.5 meters in width at the lawn plaza of 'Jungang Park' in Jeonggwan-eup.
Jungang Park in the downtown area of Jeonggwan-eup is a 21,000㎡ neighborhood park focused on culture and leisure, featuring a large 8,200㎡ lawn plaza.
The lawn plaza is a community cultural space where performances, festivals, and cultural events are held, and it is a representative park of Gijang visited by many residents who enjoy rest and picnics.
There were many opinions that Jungang Park lacked sufficient attractions such as children's playground facilities relative to its size. Gijang-gun invested about 50 million KRW to provide visual attractions and playground facilities for family visitors by installing the tallest large traditional swing in the Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam area, along with Jangseung (traditional Korean totem poles) and Sotdae (wooden poles with birds). It was created to allow people to enjoy traditional culture in the city center.
Additionally, to ensure safety and comfort during nighttime, a budget of over 200 million KRW was secured to install 55 large park lights by April. Jungang Park in Jeonggwan will be designed as a 'CPTED' (Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design) park.
