Tracking Woman Who Handed Plastic Bag to Scrap Dealer
[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Sehee] Eight rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, presumed to be for an M60 machine gun, were found at a scrap yard in Songpa-gu, Seoul, prompting an investigation by the military and police.
On the 4th, the Songpa Police Station in Seoul announced that it received a report around 4:50 p.m. the previous day from the owner of a scrap yard in Jamsil-dong, Songpa-gu, about bullets with live warheads.
The police and military responded to the scene, and it was confirmed that among the eight rounds of ammunition, one was live, and seven were blanks. Three mobile phones were also found inside the plastic bag containing the ammunition.
The police are tracking two women in their 40s who handed over the plastic bag containing the ammunition to the scrap yard, to investigate the initial acquisition route of the ammunition.
