Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries Appoints Kim Minjong, Former Head of Haesimwon, as Director of the 10th Marine Fisheries Training Institute
[Asia Economy Sejong=Reporter Dongwoo Lee] The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries announced on the 4th that it has appointed Kim Minjong, former Director of the Central Maritime Safety Tribunal of the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, as the 10th President of the Korea Maritime and Fisheries Training Institute.
The term of the newly appointed President Kim will be three years, from today until February 3, 2025.
President Kim graduated from the Department of Navigation at Korea Maritime and Ocean University and has served as Director of the Maritime Safety Policy Division, Director General of the Maritime Safety Bureau, and Director of the Central Maritime Safety Tribunal at the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries.

The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries evaluated President Kim as a person with expertise in seafarer policy and maritime safety, based on his experience aboard merchant ships and public service, as well as a strong sense of fieldwork, and expressed expectations that he will play a significant role in the development of the Korea Maritime and Fisheries Training Institute.
