Huons Supplies Professional COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Test Kits Domestically
Collaboration with In Vitro Diagnostic Medical Device Specialist Kels
Response to Omicron Variant Spread
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-joo] Huons is set to supply rapid antigen test kits to respond to the domestic spread of the COVID-19 Omicron variant.
On the 3rd, Huons announced that it will supply the professional rapid antigen test kit for COVID-19, ‘Accurate Rapid COVID19 Ag,’ domestically in collaboration with Kels, a bio-venture specializing in in vitro diagnostic medical devices.
As the Omicron variant spreads rapidly, with daily new COVID-19 cases in Korea reaching the 20,000 range and breaking records continuously, the quarantine authorities began implementing a revised Omicron response system from today. Under the new system, general citizens, excluding high-risk groups, can only receive a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test if they test positive on a rapid antigen test. If symptoms such as cough, fever, or sore throat appear, individuals visit designated medical institutions to receive a medical examination and a professional rapid antigen test.
With the prioritization of rapid antigen testing, Huons plans to actively respond to domestic demand by securing Kels’ professional rapid antigen test kit, ‘Accurate Rapid COVID19 Ag.’ Starting today, Huons will supply the kits to medical institutions capable of conducting rapid antigen tests, including designated respiratory clinics nationwide.
