Girl group BLACKPINK's music video for "DDU-DU DDU-DU," released in 2018, has surpassed 1.8 billion views. According to their agency YG Entertainment on the 1st, the video exceeded 1.8 billion views on YouTube at 5:02 PM that day. This is the first record for a K-pop group music video. It was achieved 3 years and 7 months after its release on June 15, 2018. YG Entertainment stated, "At the current pace, reaching 2 billion views within the year does not seem impossible."
"DDU-DU DDU-DU" is the title track of BLACKPINK's first mini-album, SQUARE UP. It is known for its addictive chorus, straightforward lyrics, and choreography that mimics shooting guns with both hands. Shortly after its release, it entered the US Billboard main singles chart, the Hot 100, at number 55. The music video became the most viewed K-pop video of that year.
