[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Ju-yeon] Lee Jae-myung, the presidential candidate of the Democratic Party of Korea, stated on the 1st, "I will become a strong reformist president who eradicates corruption, unfairness, and irrationality throughout our society and restores publicness and fairness."
On the afternoon of the same day, Lee posted 'Promise to the People in the Year of the Black Tiger' on Facebook, saying, "I will become a reformist president who eliminates cheating and privileges."
Lee said, "There is no way hope for the future can arise in a world where cheating and privileges prevail. The era of unfairness and irrationality must end now," adding, "I will create a fair country where no one can break the rules to gain an advantage, and no one suffers losses by following the rules."
He reflected, "So far, the democratic government has been obsessed with grand reform discourses such as reforming power institutions," emphasizing, "I will thoroughly eliminate unfairness and irrationality in all areas of people's lives, including politics, administration, judiciary, media, conglomerates, power institutions, real estate, recruitment, education, taxation, economy, society, culture, and sports."
He stressed the need for a president with strong leadership to achieve this.

Lee said, "There must be a clear vision, firm courage, and decisiveness. There must be strong leadership to overcome the resistance of vested interests," adding, "I will break the corrupt vested interest cartel that has been firmly established since liberation." He continued, "I will swiftly and boldly implement large-scale reforms across all areas and fields of society," and added, "I will surely realize the long-held dream of the democratic government: a world where people live, live together, and where fairness and common sense prevail."
