On the 31st, Song appeared on OhmyNews TV's YouTube broadcast and said, "It does not necessarily mean to personally help presidential candidate Lee Jae-myung, but to advise him to lead the government well."
It is noteworthy that the leader of the Democratic Party directly sent a 'love call' to Kim, who was a member of the People Power Party until recently.
Earlier, Democratic Party lawmakers also recently gestured toward Kim Jong-in, hoping for his role as an advisor. Kim himself mentioned on the 26th, "If (candidate Lee) wants to meet me, I could meet him."
Regarding the timing of the meeting with Kim, Song said on the broadcast, "It was right before the OhmyNews TV interview on the 26th."
He evaluated Kim Jong-in as "having insight and considerable knowledge in viewing the economy." He added, "However, former President Park Geun-hye only used the 'economic democratization' concept proposed by him during the election and then discarded it. Kim was also 'discarded'."
Furthermore, Song said, "I asked how People Power Party presidential candidate Yoon Seok-youl would have the mindset to accept Kim's philosophy and policies, and my analysis was correct," adding, "In the end, there was no room for him among people like 'Yoon core supporters.'"
He also said, "Kim Jong-in views candidate Lee positively."
Regarding the failure of the one-on-one debate between the two leading presidential candidates, Song said, "Candidate Lee kept conceding, but when the People Power Party side suggested debating without materials, they said they couldn't do it," and insisted, "We should debate without materials like in the U.S. presidential election."
