Gyeonggi Office of Education Announces Personnel Changes for 13,562 Principals, Vice Principals, Teachers, and Educational Specialists
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education announced personnel appointments for a total of 13,562 individuals, including principals, vice principals, educational specialists, and teachers, on the 27th.
The Gyeonggi Office of Education explained that this personnel appointment focused on placing personnel who can lead student-centered and field-centered Gyeonggi Innovation Education into future education. They also appointed 65 principals selected through a public recruitment process directly chosen by the school education community.
Additionally, 29 educational specialists were added. These personnel will support ▲ the creation of carbon-neutral school environments ▲ high school graduate employment and vocational education ▲ AI (Artificial Intelligence) infrastructure development ▲ educational recovery ▲ establishment of the Gyeonggi-type Teacher Rights Protection Support Center ▲ and restructuring of the roles of education support offices.
The total number of teacher appointments is 13,334.
Kim Tae-sung, Director of Teacher Policy at the Gyeonggi Office of Education, stated, "The greatest driving force to recover daily life and education after the prolonged COVID-19 tunnel is the passion and cooperation of teachers," adding, "We will continue to do our best to place talented individuals with expertise and practical capabilities in the right positions throughout the education field so that they can shine."
Since September 2020, considering the responsibility of public officials regarding strengthened personal information protection and the public's right to know, the Gyeonggi Office of Education posts personnel information of principals, vice principals, and educational specialists on its website with a notice stating 'Use for purposes other than posting is prohibited,' and deletes the information seven days after the posting date.
