Wemade Donates Cryptocurrency 'Wemix' to Korea University
[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Nahum] Wemade has donated the cryptocurrency 'WEMIX' to Korea University. This is the first time cryptocurrency has been donated to a domestic university.
Wemade announced on the 26th that it signed a cryptocurrency donation agreement with Korea University and donated WEMIX worth approximately 1 billion KRW. WEMIX is a token issued by Wemade and is listed on major domestic and international exchanges.
Korea University plans to use the donated cryptocurrency as a development fund for future education to nurture creative talents, as well as for research and academic activities including blockchain technology.
Cryptocurrency donations incorporating blockchain technology have advantages such as transparent donation management and prevention of fund misuse and embezzlement. In recent years, cryptocurrency donations have been actively made worldwide in various fields, including prestigious universities in the United States and French cultural heritage restoration.
