2022 1st Management Strategy Workshop Held
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] The Korea Technology Finance Corporation (Chairman Kim Jong-ho, hereinafter referred to as Kibo) announced on the 25th that it held the first management strategy workshop of 2022.
This workshop was organized to share last year's management performance and this year's key tasks, and to discuss Kibo's role and policy direction amid changes in the global economic paradigm, including digital innovation, carbon neutrality, and ESG (environment, social, and governance) management issues.
Held entirely as a non-face-to-face video conference due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Chairman Kim Jong-ho said, "I appreciate the hard work of the executives and employees who faithfully carried out their roles in supporting small and medium enterprises to overcome the crisis and supporting technology innovation companies amid the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic last year," adding, "Please establish transparent processes throughout all operations to create a 'more trusted Kibo' by the public."
Last year, Kibo supported a total guarantee amount of 25.5 trillion KRW, including 4.9 trillion KRW in new guarantees, not only to overcome COVID-19 but also to scale up small and medium enterprises. It has taken the lead in creating a foundation for innovative growth by introducing a new technology evaluation system and promoting open technology innovation projects.

This year, Kibo plans to focus its capabilities on the innovative growth sector and support for the Korean New Deal to lead economic revitalization. It will support the scale-up of innovative growth companies through complex financial programs linked with private investment and unicorn company nurturing programs. Efforts to expand ESG management, such as the establishment of climate response guarantees, will also continue.
