[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Dae-yeol] SK Energy and the National Fire Agency signed a business agreement on the 21st to promote a culture of emergency first aid to the public. According to this agreement, SK Energy will expand the 'Our Neighborhood Emergency First Aid Station' project, which it has been operating at its directly managed gas stations in Daegu since 2020, nationwide.
First, 207 directly managed gas stations nationwide will be converted into safety support bases, and the number will gradually increase to cover 3,249 gas stations and charging stations across the country. The safety support base gas stations promoted by SK Energy will be equipped with emergency kits containing automated external defibrillators (AEDs), blood glucose meters, thermometers, and over-the-counter medicines inside the gas stations.
In case of an emergency, trained staff will assist, and a large number of fire extinguishers will be stocked to help directly or provide fire extinguishers if a fire breaks out nearby. Fire stations near the gas stations will provide training to gas station staff on cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), airway obstruction treatment, and emergency first aid. They will also collaborate on safety culture promotion projects and emergency first aid education and youth safety education projects for vulnerable groups in the local community.
