Neowiz Appoints Bae Tae-geun as New Co-CEO
[Asia Economy Reporter Buaeri] Neowiz announced on the 20th that it has appointed Bae Tae-geun, Head of Technology Headquarters, as the new co-CEO.
Bae is scheduled to be officially appointed as CEO after the shareholders' meeting and board meeting in March. Neowiz will operate under a dual leadership system with Bae and CEO Kim Seung-cheol. CEO Kim will oversee game development and business operations, while Bae will jointly promote new technology-based businesses such as blockchain and non-fungible tokens (NFTs).
Bae joined Neowiz in 2001 and has worked for 20 years in technology-related fields including web development, supporting the operation of various Neowiz services and platforms. Since 2014, he has served as Head of Technology Headquarters, overseeing technology development, and currently also holds the position of Chief Information Security Officer (CISO).
Through this appointment, Neowiz plans to proactively respond to the changing market environment such as blockchain and metaverse to secure future competitiveness.
