A Man in His 50s Dies After Falling at an Officetel Construction Site in Gangdong-gu, Seoul
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] A man in his 50s fell to his death from the 8th floor at a newly constructed officetel site in Gangdong-gu, Seoul.
According to fire authorities on the 19th, Mr. A fell into a space left empty for elevator installation while installing supports to lift construction materials at the site around 7:50 a.m. the previous day.
When the paramedics arrived, Mr. A was already deceased. He was known to be affiliated with a subcontractor.
Safety railings to prevent falls had been installed at the accident site, but they were reportedly temporarily removed for work at the time of the accident.
