The Delivery Platform Union of the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions Service Federation held a press conference on the 18th in front of Sejong Center for the Performing Arts in Jongno-gu, Seoul, announcing this. The Delivery Platform Union consists of about 300,000 riders. The union stated, "The launch of the union means that workers who were organized on an individual company basis have united into a nationwide organization," adding, "It will be an important opportunity to improve the absurdly insufficient laws and systems to protect the lives and safety of workers."

View original imageThe Delivery Platform Union demanded the introduction of a 'Safe Delivery System' that limits the number of deliveries per hour and mandates insurance enrollment. The union said, "The Safe Delivery System includes limits on the number of deliveries per hour, appropriate fees, mandatory comprehensive motorcycle insurance, mandatory corporate accident insurance, and mandatory safety education," adding, "It is the minimum protection for (delivery) workers and a social commitment to reduce reckless driving and accidents." They further added, "Government support is also needed for the establishment of a motorcycle insurance mutual aid association and a delivery labor awareness improvement campaign to establish the system."
