Samsung Holds 7th Youth SW Academy Entrance Ceremony... "Largest Scale with 1,150 Participants"
[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Hyunjin] Samsung announced on the 18th that it held the entrance ceremony for the 7th class of 'SSAFY' at the 'Samsung Youth SW Academy (SSAFY)' Seoul campus.
The 7th class consists of 1,150 students, the largest number ever, marking the first time a single class has exceeded 1,000 students. Since the program started in 2018, SSAFY has steadily increased the number of students, beginning with 500 students in the 1st class admitted in December 2018. These students receive intensive software education for one year at five campuses nationwide: Seoul, Daejeon, Gwangju, Gumi, and Busan·Ulsan·Gyeongnam (based in Busan).
The entrance ceremony was held both online and offline considering the COVID-19 situation. Attendees on site included Park Hwajin, Vice Minister of Employment and Labor, Lee Sujin, member of the Democratic Party, Kim Heegon, member of the People Power Party, Park Hakgyu, President of Samsung Electronics Management Support Office, and 50 incoming students. The remaining 1,100 students participated online.

SSAFY operates a program that trains software developers equipped with the capabilities to be immediately deployed in companies through 1,600 hours of intensive education?8 hours daily for one year?and collaborative projects among students. All students receive a monthly education support fund of 1 million KRW and have access to a career support center that provides career consulting and recruitment information.
