Korean Air Contributes to Tourism Revitalization... Receives 'Seoul City Public-Private Cooperation Commendation'
[Asia Economy Reporter Dongwoo Lee] Korean Air announced on the 18th that it has received the ‘2021 Seoul Metropolitan Government Public-Private Partnership Excellence Award.’
Korean Air has actively collaborated with public institutions to discover new content that can promote Korea to foreigners through in-flight Audio Video On Demand (AVOD) to help recover and revitalize the domestic tourism market after COVID-19.
The Seoul tourism content provided through Korean Air’s AVOD not only increases foreigners’ interest in visiting Seoul but also enhances the image of Seoul, the capital of Korea, making it an excellent example of public-private partnership, for which it was awarded a commendation by the Seoul Metropolitan Government.
Earlier, in March last year, the company partnered with the Seoul Tourism Foundation and has been screening 14 pieces of content produced by the foundation, including ‘Cinematic Seoul,’ ‘Seoul Story,’ and ‘Seoul Bapsang Challenge’ from the Seoul tourism YouTube channel ‘Visit Seoul TV’ on international flight AVOD.
Last month, Korean Air signed a business agreement with the Korea Tourism Organization to screen Korean tourism promotional videos on in-flight AVOD, while also exposing Korean tourism content through Skypass member newsletters, official social network service (SNS) channels, and the in-flight magazine Morning Calm.
