[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] President Moon Jae-in, who is visiting three countries in the Middle East, encouraged the staff of the Korean Pavilion at the Dubai Expo during a luncheon in Dubai on the 17th (local time).
President Moon said, "During my visit in 2018, I promised Crown Prince Mohammed that Korea would operate a large Expo pavilion, and the Korean Pavilion is now successfully running as the fifth largest national pavilion at the Dubai Expo," adding, "I also heard that among the Dubai Expo pavilions, ours is the third most popular after the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Saudi Arabia."
He then told Busan Mayor Park Hyung-joon, "A significant part of the reason for visiting Dubai is to promote the Busan Expo bid," and said, "The government will devote national capabilities to ensure that all processes, from bid support to the construction of the venue and infrastructure, proceed without any setbacks."
President Moon also emphasized, "The 2030 Busan Expo will elevate Busan, the maritime capital of the Republic of Korea, to a genuine Eurasian logistics hub city and serve as a stepping stone for the growth of cities in the southeastern region."
