Delicious Meat, Enjoy with Confidence! ... Ulsan Health and Environment Research Institute Strengthens Slaughter Inspection Until the 27th
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] The Ulsan City Health and Environment Research Institute will strengthen slaughter inspections from January 17 to 27 in anticipation of an increase in slaughter volume ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday.
According to last year's data, the average daily number of animals slaughtered at two slaughterhouses in Ulsan was 41 cattle and 477 pigs, but during the holiday period, it is expected to increase to an average of 80 cattle and 520 pigs per day.
To ensure the safety of meat produced before the holiday, the institute will thoroughly conduct ante-mortem inspections and post-mortem dissection inspections, and will strengthen microbial and residue tests from once a week to twice a week.
Due to the increase in slaughter volume, slaughter operations will also be conducted on the holidays of January 22 and 23, and the start time of operations will be flexibly adjusted considering the slaughter volume.
